Sky Sports & BBC to air special Masters programmes

Sky Sports and the BBC will give golf fans their fix of Masters Tournament action this week with a range of special programmes.

The opening men’s major of the year, which was due to be staged over the Easter weekend, was postponed last month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To fill the gap in the schedules, Sky Sports will dedicate its golf channel entirely to the Masters throughout the week, with continuous programming from the Augusta National archives.

Tiger Woods’ iconic 2019 victory and Sergio Garcia’s breakthrough major win in 2017 will be among the highlights on Sky Sports Golf.

Sky Sports’ coverage of the final rounds from each of the last six years will be repeated in full from Tuesday to Sunday, with each having its own dedicated day, while highlights, official films and features from other years will also be shown throughout the week.

On Monday, 6 April, Sky Sports Golf will have extended highlights from many recent of recent editions of the event, as well as repeated coverage of last year’s inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur from 6pm.

Bubba Watson’s second Masters victory from 2014 is the focus of Tuesday’s schedule, starting at 1pm, with a full repeat of Jordan Spieth’s maiden major success a year later beginning the same time on Wednesday.

The dramatic final-round of Danny Willett’s 2016 win is being shown on Thursday and Garcia’s play-off victory over Justin Rose is the focus of Friday’s coverage, before the weekend starts off with a full repeat of Patrick Reed’s 2018 win.

Easter Sunday will then be dominated by Woods’ 15th major win, on the day this year’s final round should have been taking place, with more than seven hours of play being repeated from 12.15pm.

The BBC will also air a special programme looking back of the extraordinary 2019 tournament – The Masters 2019: Tiger Roars Again – on Easter Sunday at 5pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

History was made on the beautifully-manicured fairways of Augusta National last year when Tiger Woods claimed a fifth Green Jacket and the 15th Major title of his career in dramatic fashion.

The hour-long special, presented by Eilidh Barbour, recounts the unbelievable story of redemption and the restoration of one of sport’s global icons to the top of the golfing tree.

It will be available to watch live and on-demand via the BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.
