Formula 1 2021 on Sky Sports & Channel 4: TV Guide

It’s go, go, go for a new season of Formula 1 and Sky Sports will be the only place to watch all the on-track action throughout a record 23-race schedule in 2021.

New liveries, new driver line-ups and new circuits will shape what is expected to be an intriguing season, following last year’s Covid-19 disrupted campaign.

Britain’s Lewis Hamilton will look to make history in 2021 and break Michael Schumacher’s record number of World Championships, but early signs from pre-season testing suggest Red Bull could run the all-dominant Mercedes team very close.

Behind the very top teams, the battle is expected to be just as competitive, with Daniel Ricciardo joining Britain’s Lando Norris at McLaren, as the team aims to continue its resurgence towards the front of the grid, while two-time world champion Fernando Alonso returns to F1 with the rebranded Alpine team, the Enstone-based outfit where he won two world titles in the mid-2000s.

Ferrari are hoping to improve on their disastrous 2020 campaign, though they will be without four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel who has joined the returning Aston Martin. Among the many other significant stories on the 2021 grid, the Schumacher name is back in Formula 1 as Michael’s son Mick Schumacher makes his debut with the Haas team.

The ingredients are all there for an exciting season and fans can watch extensive coverage with all 23 races live on Sky Sports and free-to-air highlights, plus the British Grand Prix live, on Channel 4.

Full details of how to follow the 2021 Formula 1 season on the box can be found below, including Sky Sports and Channel 4 coverage plans, TV schedules and the full 2021 race calendar.

Further information, in-depth race schedules and live session timing are available via formula1.com.

Sky Sports will be the only place to watch every practice, qualifying and race day throughout the 2021 Formula 1 season on its dedicated channel.

2021 marks the tenth season of Sky Sports’ Formula 1 coverage and the usual presentation team returns to cover all of the action on-site, led by presenter Simon Lazenby, race commentators David Croft and Martin Brundle and pit lane reporters Ted Kravitz, Natalie Pinkham and Rachel Brookes.

Former world champions Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and Damon Hill, three-time Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert, and former F1 drivers Paul di Resta, Anthony Davidson and Karun Chandhok will also be part of the Sky’s punditry line-up throughout the year.

Sky’s coverage this season sees the return of The F1 Show which will preview each race in a new Thursday evening slot, plus Ted Kravitz will return with his regular qualifying and race Notebooks.

In addition to the coverage of every track session from each weekend on the Sky F1 channel, subscribers can also watch live coverage and in-race clips on the Sky Sports App.

The app features Sky Race Control – giving you access to on-board driver feeds, a mix feed, driver tracker and live timings. Race Control is also available via the Red Button on Sky Q and HD boxes.

Live streaming of all live sessions for Sky subscribers can also be found on the Sky Sports app or via Sky Go, while non-subscribers can stream Sky’s coverage online via NOW.

Sky Sports’ dedicated website – skysports.com/f1 has all the latest news, interviews, features and video content, including previews and race highlights.

As well as all of the live F1 action this season, Sky Sports will also screen live coverage of all the support race action, including Formula 2, Formula 3 and the Porsche Super Cup.

Channel 4 will continue to broadcast free-to-air highlights of every qualifying session and race throughout the 2021 Formula 1 season, plus live coverage of the British Grand Prix weekend on 16-18 July.

Steve Jones returns to present Channel 4’s coverage alongside former F1 winners David Coulthard and Mark Webber, Billy Monger and reporter Lee McKenzie.

Joining the Channel 4 team this season will be Alex Jacques, who takes over as the broadcaster’s new lead commentator from Ben Edwards, who decided to step down from the role at the end of the 2020 season, having been the voice of F1 for free-to-air audiences since 2012.

Channel 4’s coverage will continue to be produced by Whisper this season, who have been responsible of the broadcaster’s F1 output since it began covering the sport in 2016.

All programming will be broadcast in high definition and available to watch live or on-demand online via All 4.
