BBC Sport will continue to broadcast comprehensive coverage of Wimbledon until at least 2027 after securing a new three-year deal.
The corporation’s contract with the All England Club has been extended beyond the current contract, which was due to expire in 2024, giving the BBC exclusive domestic rights to broadcast the entire fortnight of The Championships to free-to-air audiences on TV and online platforms.
In addition to continued TV coverage across BBC One, BBC Two, Red Button and online streaming of all televised courts via the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer, the rights package also includes live radio commentary on BBC 5 live and 5 live Sports Extra.
The longest partnership in sports broadcasting history celebrates 85 years of television in 2022, and this new extension will see 100 years of radio coverage marked in 2027.

“Wimbledon on the BBC will continue to bring the nation must-see sporting moments free to air, captivating audiences of all ages.”
The Championships are one of the highlights of the British summer sporting calendar and continue to draw in bumper audiences to the BBC across the fortnight.
In 2019, a peak audience of 9.6m watched live coverage of the Wimbledon men’s singles final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer on BBC One.

Alongside Wimbledon, the BBC also broadcasts daily highlights of the Australian Open, plus extensive coverage of the grass-court tennis season in the build-up to Wimbledon, including tournaments at Queen’s Club and Eastbourne.
