Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Day 4 on BBC & Eurosport – TV Guide

0

After a gold rush on day three, there are more medal chances for Team GB on fourth day of competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, live across BBC Sport and Eurosport.

SOTB’s Olympics TV guides will take you through all the key action and list the must-see moments every day throughout the Games.

A total of 29 Olympic sporting disciplines are in action on Tuesday, with 22 gold medals set to be won. Here is a summary of the best action to look out for:

NOTE: Tuesday’s scheduled Rowing events have been moved back to Wednesday.

TRIATHLON: It’s the turn of the women today and Britain has three representatives – Rio bronze medallist Vicky Holland, 2020 world champion Georgia Taylor-Brown and 2019 world silver medallist Jess Learmonth. All three will be aiming to go one step further than compatriot Alex Yee, who won silver in yesterday’s men’s race.

TAEKWONDO: Britain will be hoping for more medal success on day four, after Bradly Sinden and Lauren Williams claimed silvers over the past two days.

Two-time world champion and 2021 European gold medallist Bianca Walkden goes in women’s +67kg category, while Mahama Cho, who beat Rio 2016 silver medallist and BBC pundit Lutalo Muhammad for selection at these Games, goes in the men’s +80kg category.

SWIMMING: More medals will be won in the pool today and Britain’s Duncan Scott, who will compete in six different events in Tokyo, goes in the men’s 200m freestyle final, an event in which he picked up bronze at the 2019 World Championships.

DIVING: Also in the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, Eden Cheng and Lois Toulson compete in the women’s 10m synchro diving final, where they could become the first British women to win an Olympic diving medal since 1960. They’ll be drawing inspiration from their male counterparts, Tom Daley and Matty Lee, who won gold in their event on day three.

EQUESTRIAN: Great Britain’s dressage riders will hope to challenge for medals in the team final. The team features three-time Olympic champion Charlotte Dujardin, as well as Carl Hester, who is competing at his sixth Olympics, and Charlotte Fry.

GYMNASTICS: The women’s team final takes place at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre, with the United States, led by global sporting superstar Simone Biles, the favourites to win gold.

WEIGHTLIFTING: There is British interest in the weightlifting today as Sarah Davies, who picked up a European silver medal earlier this year, competes in the women’s 64kg category.

FOOTBALL: Team GB face Canada in their final women’s group game, having already progressed through to the quarter-final stage. They beat Chile and hosts Japan in their opening two matches.

HOCKEY: The pool stages continue with Great Britain’s men taking on Germany, the team they famously beat in the 1988 Olympic final in Seoul.

RUGBY SEVENS: Great Britain’s men play their final pool match against Fiji. They’ll be aiming to progress through to the evening’s quarter-final matches, as they look to go one better than the silver they won in Rio five years ago.
