Sky Sports will broadcast live coverage of TaylorMade Driving Relief, a two-man team golf event that will benefit coronavirus relief efforts, on Sunday, 17 May.
The charity match, co-sanctioned by Sky Sports, US broadcaster Golf Channel and the PGA Tour, will take place at the historic Seminole Golf Club in Florida and feature four-time Major champion Rory McIlroy taking on world number one Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff.
All four will feature in the first televised golf event to be played since all professional tournaments were suspended during the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in March.
Organisers of the exhibition event have insisted that strict social distancing guidelines will be in effect to help protect the health and safety of the golfers, production crew and others on site, with no fans allowed to attend.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the American Nurses Foundation and CDC Foundation.
Fans at home will be able to contribute to the fundraising efforts online, with the event having a special GoFundMe page that is taking donations.
TaylorMade Driving Relief will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Golf, with four hours of coverage starting at 7pm.
The live TV output will be produced by NBC’s Golf Channel team, featuring commentary by Mike Tirico from his home in Michigan, as well as analysts Paul Azinger and Gary Koch and play-by-play with Rich Lerner from an off-site production facility. Jerry Foltz and Steve Sands will be on-site course reporters.

“With four of the PGA Tour’s top stars in Rory, Rickie, Dustin and Matthew of Team TaylorMade participating and UnitedHealth Group serving as the foundation of charitable giving, and Farmers Insurance providing an additional bonus pool, golf fans around the world can look forward to a unique, interactive and entertaining event that will help those in need.”
Professional golf in the United States is set to resume in June with the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge at Fort Worth, Texas.
