BT Sport will live stream its exclusive coverage of the all-English 2021 UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester City and Chelsea for free via its online platforms on Saturday, 29 May.
For the second year running, the venue for the Champions League final was changed at the last-minute due to coronavirus restrictions, moving from the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, to the Estádio do Dragao in Porto, Portugal.
The Porto final will bring the curtain down on the European club season with two of Europe’s most elite sides remaining in the race to claim club football’s greatest prize.
After years of agony in Europe, Pep Guardiola’s intrepid Premier League winners are on the brink of completing owner Sheikh Mansour’s ambitious project by claiming a maiden Champions League crown.
Standing between them and European glory are 2012 Champions League winners Chelsea, with Thomas Tuchel’s side looking to repeat those heroics of nine years ago.
BT Sport has exclusive and comprehensive coverage of the 2021 final on Saturday, 29 May, live on BT Sport 1 and in 4K UHD on BT Sport Ultimate, as well as for free online via the BT Sport website/app and the BT Sport YouTube channel.
A special live preview show hosted by Lynsey Hipgrave on Friday, 28 May at 8pm on BT Sport 2 will set the scene for the big match, featuring guests Michael Owen, Gianfranco Zola and Owen Hargreaves. The programme will also be available to watch live via BT Sport’s YouTube channel.
Gary Lineker presents BT Sport’s live coverage from the Estadio do Dragao in Porto, with the on-air team based inside the stadium on the night as part of a special remote production operation.
On the eve of the match, Lineker, who has led BT Sport’s Champions League coverage since its inception in 2015, confirmed via Twitter that he would be stepping down from his role with the broadcaster after six years.
