S4C to replay Wales internationals from Ryan Giggs’ reign

Giggs was appointed Wales manager in February 2018 and to look back at the team’s achievements during his reign so far, Sgorio will be showing five matches from that period over five weekends.

The series will start on Saturday, 18 April with a full replay of the UEFA Nations League match between Wales and Republic of Ireland, which was played in September 2018.

Then on Saturday, 25 April, re-live the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier between Slovakia and Wales, while a week later on Saturday, 2 May, Sgorio will show Wales’ home match against 2018 World Cup runners up Croatia.

S4C’s series continues on Saturday, 9 May with a repeat showing of Azerbaijan v Wales, before ending on Saturday, 16 May with another look at Wales’ final match of their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, at home against Hungary.

All matches will be shown on Saturdays at 5.30pm on S4C and will be available to watch on demand on S4C Clic. Broadcast times and details can be found below.

The Welsh language broadcaster has already been filling its weekend schedules, in the absence of live sport during ongoing the coronavirus pandemic, with classic rugby union matches from its Clwb Rygbi archives.

BBC Wales will also show classic Welsh sporting action from its archives over the coming weeks, including memorable Welsh international rugby union and football matches.

In addition, S4C will also repeat its special documentary – Sgorio: Dathlu 30 – looking back at 30 years of its flagship football programme on Friday, 10 April at 9pm.
