Wimbledon 2019 begins on 1 July and the BBC will be bringing all of the unmissable action across TV, radio and digital platforms, with coverage of all 18 courts available in HD live for the first time.
Novak Djokovic and Angelique Kerber will defend their singles titles at the third Grand Slam event of the year, one of the perennial highlights of the British summer sporting calendar.
Sue Barker leads the BBC’s network TV coverage across BBC One and BBC Two throughout The Championships, in what will be her 20th consecutive year as the corporation’s main Wimbledon anchor.
She will be joined by a host of former Wimbledon champions and BBC regulars including John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Boris Becker, Billie Jean King and Pat Cash, who head up a top-class line-up that also includes Tracy Austin, Kim Clijsters and Tim Henman.
Complimenting the BBC’s TV coverage will be its extensive Wimbledon digital service, which will be bigger than ever this year. The BBC’s ultra-high definition trials are being expanded this year, so that viewers with compatible TVs will be able to watch every centre court match in UHD and high dynamic range on BBC iPlayer and by pressing the red button.
Also for the first time, every match from all 18 courts will be available live and on-demand on BBC iPlayer and on the BBC Sport website and app.
Rounding off the BBC’s TV coverage every day will be Today At Wimbledon, which sees Clare Balding in the presenter seat for the highlights show, which comes live from the open air studio by Henman Hill daily on BBC Two.
She will guide viewers through the best of the day’s action and discuss the major talking points, as the tournament unfolds, with a host of special guests.
Match commentary throughout the Wimbledon fortnight will be led by Andrew Castle, Andrew Cotter, John Inverdale, Mark Petchey, Chris Bradnam, Simon Reed, David Mercer, Nick Mullins, Matt Chilton, Gigi Salmon, Dan Lobb, Ronald McIntosh, Nick Lester and James Burridge.
Expert analysis and comment will also come from Annabel Croft, Jo Durie, Peter Fleming, Paul Hand, John Lloyd, Peter Odgers, Louise Pleming, Chanda Rubin, Todd Woodbridge, Sam Smith, Liz Smylie, Vijay Amritraj and Mel South, while Lee McKenzie, Rishi Persad, Reshmin Chowdhury, Patrick Gearey and Simon Mundie provide reports, interviews and features from around SW19.
The BBC Sport website, mobile app and TV app – bbc.co.uk/tennis – will offer all the latest news, analysis, draws, order of play, live scores and results plus highlights, full match replays and video clips throughout The Championships, while Gigi Salmon and Tony Livesey host the extensive coverage on Radio 5 Live, with expert analysis from former Wimbledon champions Marion Bartoli and Pat Cash.
John McEnroe returns to present his 5 Live show each Thursday of the tournament, speaking to big names from tennis and beyond, with listeners also getting the chance to have their say. 5 Live’s commentary team is led by tennis correspondent Russell Fuller, along with Gigi Salmon, David Law, Naomi Cavaday, Jonathan Overend, Iain Carter, and Alastair Eykyn.

On the eve of the 2019 Championships, the BBC will broadcast a special documentary profiling one of its most popular Wimbledon commentators. John McEnroe: Still Rockin’ At 60 sees Sue Barker present a one-off special for BBC One to celebrate the 60th birthday of the man who took the world of tennis by storm.
Sue travels to New York to meet his childhood friends and family, as well greatest rival and close friend Bjorn Borg, to find out more about the man who at 60, is still competing and is the oldest man on tour. The documentary will be shown on 30 June.
The BBC will have every angle covered from Wimbledon 2019 across TV, radio and online from 1-14 July, while fans can also follow the qualifying tournament at Roehampton in the week prior to the main event with live coverage on BBC Red Button.
