Eurosport has bought the rights to broadcast the FIM Motocross World Championship and the FIM Motocross of Nations.
The pan-European broadcaster has signed a live TV and digital rights for three seasons covering the 2014 to 2016 seasons of the FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) and the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN).
The multi-year agreement with promoters Youthstream includes the 54 countries and 133 million homes covered by Eurosport in Europe, including the UK, as well as 16 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
The MXGP events, MX2 events and MXoN, events all sanctioned by the world motorcycling governing body FIM, will be broadcast live or delayed on British Eurosport or British Eurosport 2 in the UK.
Eurosport will also show a half-hour highlights programme produced by Youthstream every Tuesday following Sunday’s MXGP.
The 2014 MXGP season will start on March 1 in Qatar and will end on 14 September in Mexico, while the MXoN will take place in Kegums, Latvia on September 28.

Eurosport’s new motocross deal adds to its line-up of top class motorsport in 2014.
Despite the loss of MotoGP rights to BT Sport, British Eurosport will still be the home of live World Superbike Championship and British Superbikes races, as well as World Touring Cars, grand prix speedway and much more.

“Motocross will satisfy the off-road fans and will help to balance our offer of circuit competitions like FIM World Superbike Championships and British Superbikes.
“This new deal is part of our process to reinforce our global motorsports offer.”
The 2014 motocross season start on British Eurosport 2 on March 1 from Losail, Qatar.
