Wladimir Klitschko’s defence of his world heavyweight title against Mariusz Wach will be shown live in the UK after ESPN agreed a deal to broadcast the fight.
Klitschko is looking to extend his eight-year winning streak when he takes on the unbeaten Polish giant in Hamburg on Saturday, November 10.
Currently on a 16-fight winning streak, with the last of his three defeats coming back in 2004, this fight will be Klitschko’s 13th consecutive defence of his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles.
The bout will be one of the few occasions where the 6ft 6in Ukranian is smaller than his opponent, with Wach standing at 6ft 7½in as well as possessing a reach of around 208cm.
Wach will represent a different kind of challenge for Klitschko due to his height advantage.
The 32-year-old Pole is undefeated and boasts a 27-0 career record, with 15 of his victories coming via knockout.
Klitschko has enjoyed sustained success against a series of smaller opponent in recent years, including dominant wins over Tony Thompson and Jean Marc Mormeck in 2012.
The fight represents the first time that ESPN has broadcast live boxing on its main UK channel, and will follow immediately from its live coverage of the rugby union Autumn International between France and Australia.
