Sky Sports will be the only place to catch all four rounds of the 2011 Masters.
Details of Sky Sports’ comprehensive coverage have been confirmed, with all four days of the Augusta showpiece live in stunning high definition and, for the first time, in 3D.
The network is covering the prestigious event for the very first time in 2011, and will share coverage with the BBC for the next three years.
David Livingstone leads Sky Sports’ critically acclaimed coverage, with commentary and analysis from the regular Sky team – including Ewen Murray, Bruce Critchley, Butch Harmon, Howard Clark, Mark Roe, Di Dougherty and Tim Barter.
Joining the commentary roster in Augusta is European Ryder Cup winning captain Colin Montgomerie.
Analysis will be enhanced further with new virtual course graphics courtesy of the Sky Pad touchscreen, a regular feature on Sky’s coverage of major sporting events in recent times.
The touchscreen enables Sky’s analysts to explain the nuances of the course layout in precise detail, improving viewers understanding and appreciation of the technical challenges that the world’s greatest players will face over the four rounds.
Sky’s coverage includes extensive preview programming in the week building up to the tournament.
The first live action will be the traditional Par 3 Contest on Wednesday 6th April, live on Sky Sports HD1 from 7.30pm.
Viewers will be treated to an extra hour of live coverage of the opening two rounds on Thursday and Friday, with coverage beginning at 7pm on both days on Sky Sports HD1.
Live action on Saturday begins at 7.30pm, with coverage of the final round beginning at 6.30pm on Sunday.
Sky TV customers will have access to four extra channels of Live Masters coverage available exclusively via the Red Button – two that follow featured groups, a channel covering the 15th and 16th and a final channel from Amen corner (11th, 12th and 13th).
The extensive Sky Sports production will be competing directly against the BBC for the first time in a major golf championship.
