BT Sport has reveal its exclusive live televised Gallagher Premiership Rugby games for the first nine rounds of the new season.
Newly-promoted Bristol Bears have been handed the honour of opening the Gallagher Premiership Rugby season on Friday, 31 August, live in front of the BT Sport cameras. The Bears, who are back in the top flight after a one season absence, will face local rivals Bath Rugby at Ashton Gate.
Gloucester will then take on Northampton on Saturday, 1 September (kick-off 2pm), followed by last year’s beaten finalists Exeter Chiefs tackling Leicester Tigers (kick-off 4.30pm).
BT Sport will round off the opening weekend with a trip to Kingston Park to see if champions Saracens can make the perfect start to the defence of their title against Newcastle Falcons (kick-off 3pm).
There will be no London Double Header this year as Twickenham is due to close in September for redevelopment work. However, Premiership Rugby will break new ground on 6 October when Harlequins against Saracens, kicking off at 7.30pm, is televised live on network TV in the US on NBC for the first time.
The broadcaster, which is also now the exclusive pay-TV home of every European Rugby Champions Cup match, will be showing 28 live Premiership Rugby matches across the first nine rounds, with more than 80 in total set to be broadcast throughout the campaign, plus live coverage of the newly rebranded Premiership Rugby Cup, which replaces the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
The full line-up for the first nine rounds is provided below and every game listed will be available for live streaming on BTSport.com and the BT Sport app, as well as in 4K Ultra HD.
The familiar BT Sport presenting team of Craig Doyle, Martin Bayfield and Sarra Elgan return for the new season, as do regular commentators and pundits Lawrence Dallaglio, Austin Healy, Ben Kay, Ugo Monye, Nick Mullins and Alastair Eykyn.
As last season, free-to-air highlights, as well as five selected live games, will continue to be shown on Channel 5.
