S4C has confirmed that it will show live Welsh language coverage of every Wales game during UEFA Euro 2020.
The Euro 2016 semi-finalists begin their campaign on 12 June against Switzerland in Baku, Azerbaijan, where they will also play their second group match on 16 June against Turkey.
The Dragons then travel onto Rome to face Italy in their final group match on 20 June, with every game live, including knockout stage matches if Wales progress, in full on S4C and online via S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer.
In addition to every Wales during the championship, S4C will also have live free-to-air coverage of their two warm-up friendlies.
On 2 June, Wales take on world champions France in Nice, then three days later, in their final match before Euro 2020 itself, Wales welcome Albania to the Cardiff City Stadium.
Sgorio presenter Dylan Ebenezer will front S4C’s live coverage of every Wales match throughout the summer, with Catrin Heledd, Nic Parri and Gwennan Harries also part of the on-air team.
S4C’s coverage of the tournament proper will be produced by BBC Cymru Wales.
Commenting on being part of S4C’s coverage, Ebenezer said:
“It’s fantastic to be part of the S4C team for UEFA EURO 2020. Everyone has great memories of what happened in France in the summer of 2016. Quite a lot has changed since then but the support of the Red Wall, whether in the stadium or from home, has been there throughout and I think the players appreciate that.
“The team have performed brilliantly to secure their place in this year’s championship, and with an exciting mix of talented youngsters and experienced players like Bale, Ramsey and Allen, there is a lot of potential in the current squad. I can’t wait for the Euros and I hope supporters will join us on S4C to enjoy every moment.”
Leading up to the championship, S4C will have several football-themed shows. Y Wal Goch combines Welsh fans’ unique stories with live music and big interviews and will be shown every Friday night until the start of the competition.
Hansh will also be showing a host of different videos leading up to and during the competition, while the Y Naw Deg podcast, with Rhydian Bowen Phillips and Sioned Dafydd, will follow the championship with guests and Wales supporters.
Fans can also follow @S4Cchwaraeon on social media to access the best of S4C’s coverage throughout the summer.
S4C’s Welsh language coverage of Euro 2020 compliments the coverage provided by the BBC and ITV, who will share live matches throughout entire tournament which runs from 11 June to 11 July.
The first two Wales group matches will be shown live on the BBC, while ITV has live coverage of their final group match against Italy.
If Wales progress to the knockout stages, the BBC has the first two picks at both the round of 16 and quarter-final stages. If Wales repeat their success of four years ago and make it to the semi-finals, ITV will have first choice of the two matches.
