FA Cup Final 2019: Live on BBC One & BT Sport

The BBC and BT Sport will broadcast live coverage of 138th FA Cup final from Wembley on Saturday, 18 May, where Watford will try to upset the odds against newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester City and lift the trophy for the first time.

Manchester City are looking to become the first team to win the English domestic treble, having already won the Premier League and Carabao Cup this season.

The FA Cup is the one domestic trophy that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has yet to win in English football, and his team will be determined to end an impressive season on a high.

City have won the FA Cup five times before, although only one of those has come in the last 50 years, with Yaya Toure earning them victory against Stoke in 2011.

Watford’s only previous FA Cup final appearance came in 1984, when they were beaten 2-0 by Everton.

The Hornets will begin as underdogs against City’s superstars but will believe anything is possible, having come from 2-0 down to beat Wolves 3-2 in the semi-finals.

BBC Sport has all the action from the 2019 Emirates FA Cup Final covered for free-to-air audiences across all of its platforms – TV, radio and online.

Cup final day build-up begins on BBC One at 1pm with a Football Focus special, where Dan Walker and guests, including 7-time Women’s FA Cup winner Alex Scott and 2013 FA Cup winning manager Roberto Martinez will be live from Wembley Stadium to look ahead to the final.

John Barnes, who played in Watford’s 2-0 defeat by Everton in the 1984 FA Cup final, will also be appearing on Football Focus along with ex-Hornets striker Luther Blissett and former Manchester City player Shaun Wright-Phillips, who won the FA Cup with Chelsea in 2007.

Football Focus is followed by The FA Cup Show at 2pm on BBC One (2.40pm in Scotland) where Jason Mohammad will have further analysis, features and interviews before the final, including a special piece on City manager Pep Guardiola.

Then following a short break for the news, BBC One begins its final build-up to the big match from 3.55pm, with Gary Lineker joined in the studio by former England striker Alan Shearer and two-time Arsenal FA Cup winner Ian Wright.

The 2019 FA Cup Final kicks off at 5pm and the BBC are the host broadcaster for the match. Guy Mowbray leads the match commentary team, while pitchside reports and pre/post-match interviews will come from Dan Walker and Eilidh Barbour.

Jason Mohammad returns to present highlights of the FA Cup Final on BBC One at 12 midnight, with analysis from Alex Scott and ex-Aston Villa forward Dion Dublin. The show is repeated on Sunday morning at 9.25am.

All of BBC One’s programmes from Wembley will be available to watch live on the BBC Sport website – bbc.co.uk/facup – with live streaming and catch-up via BBC iPlayer.

The match itself will also be available to watch in 4K Ultra HD for those with compatible TVs on BBC iPlayer by pressing the Red Button during the BBC’s coverage, or directly through the BBC iPlayer app on their TV, although there will be a cap in place for those watching coverage in Ultra HD due to the high bandwidth required.

BBC Radio 5 live will have full live commentary of the match, while there will be live text commentary on the BBC Sport website from 1pm on Saturday, which will include build-up, the game, and post-match reaction, and on Friday morning there will be an iPlayer exclusive preview show, presented by Jermaine Jenas.

BT Sport will also broadcast full live coverage and extensive build-up to the 2019 FA Cup Final from Wembley.

The pay-TV broadcaster’s coverage begins at 4pm on BT Sport 2 and in ultra-high definition on its 4K UHD channel, presented by Jake Humphrey and guests from pitchside, which will include BT Sport regulars Rio Ferdinand, Steve McManaman and Glenn Hoddle.

Match commentary comes from Ian Darke and Robbie Savage, pitchside reports and interviews will be provided by Des Kelly, while expert analysis and opinion on all the key refereeing decisions throughout the match come from Peter Walton.

BT Sport’s digital platforms – the BT Sport app and BTSport.com – will also be showing the game in the enhanced video player, giving subscribers to chance to catch-up on key moments they may have missed, access to ground-breaking 360° live streams and the option to watch from a camera angle of their choosing.

Subscribers will also be able to watch a full 1080p HD stream via Xbox, Samsung TV and Apple TV via BT Sport’s new large screen app.
