
Sky Sports will screen two live games as part of its coverage of the EFL Cup second round on August 23-24.
Eight-time League Cup winners Liverpool’s trip to Burton Albion will be the first televised tie on Tuesday, August 23
This will be followed by Accrington’s clash against Lancashire neighbours Burnley, on Wednesday, August 24, with both TV ties kicking off at 7.45pm.
Liverpool were beaten on penalties in last year’s final against Manchester City, but will be looking to start another run to Wembley at the Pirelli Stadium, the home of the Championship side.
Burton, managed by former Liverpool midfielder Nigel Clough, saw off Bury 3-2 in the first round on Wednesday night.
Separated by just eight miles, Accrington and Burnley will be facing off in a competitive fixture for the first time since the 19th century at the Crown Ground.
Accrington made it to the second round after a dramatic 11-10 penalty shoot-out win over Bradford on Tuesday, following a 0-0 draw.
Live coverage of the EFL Cup on Sky Sports will continue to be presented by Simon Thomas, with expert analysis from pundits including Jamie Carragher, Jamie Redknapp, Peter Beagrie and Don Goodman.
Alongside Sky Sports’ exclusively live games from the first round to the final, Channel 5 will continue to screen terrestrial highlights from each round during the competition.
