Sky Sports have announced which two ties they will broadcasting live in the fourth round of this season’s Capital One Cup.
Arsenal’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday and Liverpool’s home clash with Bournemouth in the last 16 phase of competition will both be shown live.
The fourth round draw brought together some fascinating clashes and our cameras will be at both the aforementioned games on October 27-28.
Sheffield Wednesday produced the shock of round three to heap more misery on Newcastle and their reward is a home tie against Arsenal on Tuesday, October 27.
Meanwhile, Liverpool only just scraped past Carlisle United on penalties and the visit of Bournemouth will provide another stiff challenge on Wednesday, October 28.
Both of Sky Sports’ live games will kick-off at 7:45pm.
The clash at Hillsborough brings together two sides that fought out the 1993 League Cup final, a match that Arsenal won 2-1 and current Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson scored and won the man of the match award.
Despite both clubs being steeped in rich history in English they haven’t met in a competitive fixture since 2000 when a late Thierry Henry goal at Highbury levelled the match at 3-3.
Liverpool will be taking on newly promoted Bournemouth for the second time at Anfield this season after a controversial 1-0 Premier League win in August where Christian Benteke scored but it should have been ruled out for offside.
Sky Sports will be providing exclusive live coverage of the 2015/16 Capital One Cup, which will see two matches per round screened live, including both legs of January’s semi-finals, before the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, February 28.
Free-to-air highlights will be broadcast on Channel 5 this season, with its 90-minute programmes rounding up the week’s action presented by Kelly Cates.
