Kid Galahad is back in his native Sheffield this Saturday as he returns to ring against in a super-bantamweight contest against Adeilson Dos Santos, live on Channel 5.
One of the rising stars of British boxing, Galahad is in action at the Ponds Forge Arena in a potentially exciting contest against the unbeaten number 15 ranked WBO Latino super-bantamweight champion and former WBC world youth champion Adeilson Dos Santos.
Galahad is working his way towards a world title bid, having already lifted the Commonwealth and European Superbantamweight titles and he is determined not only to join the likes of Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton at the top table of this weight division, but to beat them.
His ultimate aim is to emulate his hero Prince Naseem Hamed, who is also an Ingle gym graduate.
Despite winning the vacant European and Commonwealth titles in his last two outings, it is world honours that Galahad truly covets, though he is going to have to face a step up in class before he is deemed worthy of a shot against one of the champions.
Galahad, with 17-0 record including nine knockout wins, dominated his last fight back in May against Fred Mundraby over four one-sided rounds, also held in Sheffield, collecting the vacant Commonwealth junior featherweight title after Mundraby’s corner decided to retire their man.
In terrific form on the night and barely taking a shot in anger from his Australian visitor, who was in retreat mode throughout the scheduled 12-round fight, Galahad will look to produce a similar performance against Brazil’s Adeilson Dos Santos in a bout for the vacant IBF youth super bantamweight title.
On the undercard at Ponds Forge, chief support comes in the shape of another rising star from the Steel City as middleweight Adam Etches, who enjoys fanatical support, will be looking to take his record to 17 straight wins against opponent Samir Santos Barbosa, who is rated number two in his home country of Brazil.

Mark Pougatch presents Channel 5’s two-hour programme from ringside at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge, starting at 10.00pm on Saturday night, with big fight commentary led by Dave Farrar alongside Richie Woodhall.
Galahad’s fight will be followed by action from the undercard, featuring Adam Etches and Samir Santos Barbosa, plus there will be extensive pre and post-fight reaction from the Channel 5 team at ringside.
