A sporting spectacular awaits this weekend as Sky Sports gets set to screen live coverage of some of world’s iconic events in its ‘Ultimate Weekend’ from May 22-25.
The BMW PGA Championship, the Monaco Grand Prix, the UEFA Champions League Final, the Heineken Cup Final, the Championship Play-Off Final, England v Sri Lanka ODI cricket and much more will all be offer over a hectic weekend of live sport.
Starting with golf, the European Tour’s showpiece event – BMW PGA Championship – comes from the iconic course of Wentworth across the weekend.
Stakes are high for the all-star playing field, although Graeme McDowell misses out on account of his wife’s pregnancy, but their are four former world No 1s are in action – Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer.
Lewis Hamilton hopes for back-to-back Formula 1 wins after his Spanish GP success as the circus moves into Monte Carlo for the Monaco Grand Prix, but will the narrow streets inhibit Mercedes’ power?
The toughest race of the year is predicted as drivers try to navigate the winding roads with the latest generation of cars not familiar with road-racing.
On Saturday night, attention turns from Monaco to Madrid as Real face Atletico in the first UEFA Champions League final to feature clubs from the same city.

The Premier League Darts season concludes with Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, Gary Andersen and Michael Van Gerwen descending upon the O2 Arena in London.
Vital wins in Brighton last week secured play-off spots for these four and now a place in the night’s final is up for grabs before the 2014 winner is crowned.
After a T20 warm-up, the five-match ODI series between England and Sri Lanka begins at The Oval and tourists are bringing their big guns – Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lasith Malinga and Kumar Sangakkara return to the squad.
England recall Michael Carberry – who criticised his omission from previous ODI squads – and Tim Bresnan.
Sky Sports also bring cricket fans NatWest T20 Blast action with a revamped format guaranteed to provide fast-paced action to keep you glued to the action.
Rugby league’s Magic Weekend is followed up with Wigan Warriors trying to keep their championship aspirations alive at Salford.
Wigan, despite being depleted by injury, beat Leeds Rhinos at the Etihad and will be hoping to have a bolstered squad for their visit to the Red Devils.
