Sky Sports confirms 2013/14 Championship final day games

Sky Sports has announced the two games it will screen exclusively live as part of its coverage of the final day of the 2013/14 Sky Bet Championship season on May 3.

It is a crucial finale to the season as the 46th and final round of matches take place, all kicking off at 12.15pm on Saturday lunchtime, and Sky Sports has chosen to focus on the battle amongst the teams fighting for a place in the Play-offs.

There will be two live games to choose from as the battle to reach the play-offs reaches its conclusion – Reading v Burnley on Sky Sports 1 and Nottingham Forest v Brighton on Sky Sports 2.

Following Wigan’s win over Birmingham in midweek, there is now just one play-off spot up for grabs and Reading and Brighton are two of the teams in contention.

Reading currently occupy the all-important sixth place in the table and know victory will see them claim the final play-off place, but any slip-up could let in Brighton, who are just one point outside the play-off frame.

It won’t be easy for the Royals, though, as they host a Burnley side looking to end the season on a high, having already clinched automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Hoping Sean Dyche’s side can get a result will be Brighton, who sit just a solitary point behind Reading and need their rivals to slip up if they are to have any chance of joining Derby, QPR and Wigan in the play-offs.

The Seagulls must focus on their own performance, though, and have a tough finish to the season as they travel to Nottingham Forest looking for what could be a vital win.

Gary Brazil has been in charge at the City Ground since Billy Davies’ sacking in March, and Forest have been an unpredictable force in recent weeks, so Brighton will have to be at their best when they travel to Nottingham.

It promises to be a nail-biting final day at the other end of the table, too, as Birmingham, Doncaster and Millwall all fight to avoid becoming the third team to be relegated to League One.

Sky Sports will keep viewers up to date with all the action as the final day of the Sky Bet Championship unfolds.

Alongside live coverage of two matches across Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2, there will be news from all 12 games around the country on Sky Sports News from 11.00am, with Jeff Stelling and guests keeping an eye on the final day games, bringing fans all the goal as they happen from the season finale.

Highlights of all the drama from the climax of another dramatic Championship season will be shown on Sky Sports 1 at 10.15pm on Saturday evening.

Online, the Sky Sports Live Score Centre via skysports.com will keep fans up to date with all the goals as they go in.

BBC Sport will also screen extensive highlights of all the drama from the last day of the Football League season across all three divisions, with particular focus on the Sky Bet Championship.

There’s plenty to play for as the last promotion, relegation and play-off issues are settled in all three divisions and Manish Bhasin will present all the highlights in The Football League Show at 11.45pm on BBC One, available on BBC iPlayer shortly afterwards.

The BBC Sport website will provide all the latest goal flashes and updates from every Championship match, while Final Score on BBC Red Button from 2.30pm and BBC One at 4.30pm will keep fans informed of the key goals in Leagues 1 and 2.
