Sky & BT confirm live Premier League games for April

Sky Sports and BT Sport have confirmed which Barclays Premier League fixtures they will screen exclusively live in April as the end of the 2013/14 season draws to a potentially pulsating climax.

As in March, 20 live matches from the English top-flight are scheduled to be broadcast across both networks – 17 on Sky Sports and three on BT Sport.

Due to various potential European and FA Cup commitments, many of the chosen matches are subject to change depending on each club’s progress in those respective competitions.

Sky Sports will show Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool at least three times each in April as well as live coverage of the two top four head-to-head clashes.

Its subscribers can enjoy 17 live matches on Sky Sports in April, including a record 16 fixtures involving teams currently in the top six, with a standout fixture being Liverpool’s game with Man City on April 13.

Sky Sports will also show Liverpool against Chelsea on April 27, as well as an intriguing match between Everton and Arsenal at Goodison Park on April 6.

Manchester City’s critical game against Southampton is one of three Barclays Premier League matches that will be shown on BT Sport.

City, who are close on the heels of Chelsea and Arsenal, will be hoping for three points but Southampton, under Mauricio Pochettino, have proved to be tricky opposition this season.

In fact, they took a point off City in December when Dani Osvaldo scored a sensational equaliser for the Saints.

Everton will also face the Saints in April, another match that will feature exclusively live on BT Sport.

Roberto Martinez’s Toffees have had a strong season and will be seeking three vital points in the hope of a top four finish.

Fifth placed Spurs are one of the teams battling with Everton for that coveted fourth place and the chance to qualify for the Champions League.

They will also feature live on BT Sport in April when they take on Fulham at White Hart Lane in a London derby.

That match will be of huge importance to Fulham who are bottom of the league and in danger of being relegated from the Premier League for the first time since 2001.

Looking ahead to the final month of Premier League action in May, Sky Sports will be the only place to watch the current top four teams, with at least seven live matches during the final two weeks of the season.

Jamie Carragher, Sky Sports’ football expert, said: “It’s going to be an incredible end to an amazing season and I can’t wait.

“It’s the most important time of the season and Sky Sports is the best place to watch all the drama and excitement between now and the last day.”

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “BT Sport continues to show great live action from the Barclays Premier League.

We showed matches involving Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United in February, we’ll show Chelsea v Arsenal exclusively live in March and we are delighted that Manchester City, Spurs and Everton will now take their turn in April.

“BT Sport will also be showing one of the FA Cup semi-finals in April as well as the exciting closing stages of the Bundesliga, Serie A and the French Ligue 1, so there is plenty of action to keep fans happy at BT Sport.”

Highlights of all the key games will continue to be shown to free-to-air audiences via Match of the Day on BBC One on both Saturdays and Sundays.
