England begin life without the enigmatic Kevin Pietersen against Twenty20 world champions the West Indies and Sky Sports will beam their efforts into your living room.
Systematically dismantled by Australia, England will be glad for the change of opposition when they begin their three-match ODI series against the West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
All three One-Day Internationals will be shown exclusively live on Sky Sports, as will the three Twenty20 fixtures that follow, which act as vital preparation for the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20, also live on Sky Sports.
Subjected to a 4-1 defeat Down Under, England come into this series with their tail between their legs.
They will no doubt be out to prove a point and, if recent form is anything to go by, a tour of the Caribbean could provide the perfect opportunity.
England have dominated the Windies in the one-day arena in recent years, winning their last seven completed matches in a row.
Their last success came at the Oval in June 2012, when they wrapped up an eight-wicket victory with five overs to spare.
The tourists will be under the management of Ashley Giles in the Caribbean with Test captain Alastair Cook one of several senior players criticised for the manner of the high-profile exit of star player Kevin Pietersen from the England set up.
Pietersen, 33, was informed his England career was over in early February, just five days after Flower confirmed he was stepping down as Team Director, bringing to an end five largely successful years at the helm.
With the taste of the disastrous 2013/2014 Ashes tour still polluting mouths, the under-fire Cook has been rested by England as they take their first steps into a new era with three ODIs and three T20s, leaving Stuart Broad likely to captain the side in both formats.
One of the few positives for England in Australia was the introduction of all-rounder Ben Stokes, and the likes of the Durham starlet together with batsman Joe Root, who scored an unbeaten century in the opening warm-up match, will be hoping to inspire a rapid revival under the new management.
The whole squad will be preparing, however, for a hostile reception from the West Indies.
Several of the Caribbean’s finest have impressed in this season’s Big Bash and Marlon Samuels, in particular, has shown no signs of shying away from confrontation, famously facing off with Shane Warne and throwing his bat in the Australian’s direction during a heated clash between the Melbourne Stars and the Melbourne Renegades.
Therefore, in addition to an intriguing acid test for England’s brave new regime, we can foresee a few fireworks as the Windies look to capitalise on the potentially fragile mindset of their visitors.
