UEFA Europa League 2013/14: Last 32 & Last 16 live on ITV & BT

Europe’s secondary club competition returns to ITV and BT Sport as they present the pick of the action from the last 32 stage of the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League.

Juventus are aiming to make the final at their home stadium in May, but the presence of big European names like Ajax, Porto, Valencia, Tottenham Hotspur and Shakhtar Donetsk should further up the ante in the knockout phase.

There is no shortage of big names who have their hearts set on a triumph in Turin with three-time winners Juve being one of nine former UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League holders in the round of 32, including Tottenham Hotspur who have won the competition twice in 1972 and 1984.

Tottenham and Swansea are Britain’s only representatives in the knockout phase of this season’s Europa League and both will be looking to emulate Chelsea’s success in this competition last year.

ITV and BT Sport will share live coverage of the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League knockout stages from the last 32 to the final in May.

ITV Sport will be the place to watch every match featuring the two British sides remaining in the competition as the free-to-air broadcaster has all first and second pick games the entire knockout phase.

In the last 32 stage, the earlier 5.00pm matches will be shown on digital channel ITV4, with the later 8.05pm games featuring British teams from being shown on ITV.

ITV will continue to showcase the pick of the Europa League action every Thursday, building up to its live and exclusive coverage of the 2014 UEFA Europa League final in Turin this May.

Its coverage of the last 32 stages kicks off on ITV4 at 5.30pm with Spurs’ tricky trip to Dnipro in Ukraine for their opening knockout stage match as they hope to continue their fine form in the group stage and establish a first leg lead (k/o 6.00pm).

The Ukrainian side is now managed by former Spurs boss Juande Ramos, who won the League Cup with the north London club in 2008.

Matt Smith introduces the action with Lee Dixon and Gordon Strachan providing studio analysis, while commentary comes from Sam Matterface and Clarke Carlisle.

Attention then turns to Swansea’s Liberty Stadium at 7.45pm as the action switches to ITV for live coverage of the Welsh side’s tough first leg match against Napoli.

The Italian visitors are one of the favourites for the competition, having dropped out of the Champions League.

They also have the winning manager from last season – former Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez – in the dugout.

Swansea City qualified for the Europa league for the first time in their history after winning their first English domestic silverware last season in the Capital One Cup.

They’ve played 10 matches so far to reach the knockout stages of the competition and Gary Monk’s side will be aiming for another famous scalp in the Italian favourites.

Dixon and Strachan again provide analysis in the ITV studio alongside Smith, with commentary from Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend.

BT Sport will broadcast at least four live matches during the early part of the knockout phase across its three channels –  BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN.

Both broadcasters will screen a dedicated highlights package on Fridays during every matchweek.
