Snooker Shoot-Out 2014 live on Sky Sports

Snooker’s biggest names prepare to square off at Blackpool’s Tower Circus Arena this week in the 2014 888casino.com Snooker Shoot-Out, live on Sky Sports.

Featuring 64 of the world’s top players, the fast and furious three-day competition uses a one-frame knockout format with ten-minute frames and a shot clock.

Englishman Martin Gould triumphed at last year’s event, romping to a 104-0 victory over Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen.

The result saw him claim £32,000 and pick up his first title in a televised event since the 2011 Power Snooker tournament.

This year’s event will see top green baize stars like Mark Selby, John Higgins, Jimmy White and Steve Davis battling for the £32,000 top prize.

“The arena in Blackpool produces a cauldron-like atmosphere so it’s all about which player can think quickly under pressure. It’s a dramatic three days of snooker.”

A spokesman for World Snooker added: “Many snooker fans consider this the most exhilarating event on the snooker calendar because the action comes so thick and fast and they can have plenty of fun by cheering their favourite players.

“The defending champion Martin Gould recently said it’s all about getting the crowd on your side, and a lot of others will learn from that this time.

“For the lucky fans in the arena it’s an incredible experience and a fabulous night out.”

Sky Sports will screen all three days of the 2014 Snooker Shoot-Out live from Blackpool with Andy Goldstein presenting coverage from the Circus Arena.

Commentary duties will be led by Clive Everton and Phil Yates, alongside Neal Foulds, Mike Hallett and Willie Thorne.

Live coverage will be available to watch in high-definition and online via Sky Go on PCs, laptops, mobiles and selected tablet devices.
