Australia v Lions exclusively live on Sky Sports

Sky Sports is the only place to witness all the drama of the three-test series between Australia and the British & Irish Lions this summer.

Warren Gatland and his coaching staff will be looking to secure the first Lions series win since South Africa in 1997 and create a new breed of legends to wear the famous red jersey, led by captain Sam Warburton.

The Lions headed down under for the 125th anniversary tour at the beginning of June to take on Australia in three test matches and a further six tour matches, with an additional game to kick-start the tour in Hong Kong against the famous Barbarians side.

With all but one of the tour matches completed before the first test in Brisbane on June 22, the Lions can now focus entirely on facing a formidable Australian side in their own back yard.

It all comes down to this – the third and decisive Test from Sydney between Australia and the British & Irish Lions will be shown exclusively live on Sky Sports HD this Saturday.

In a compelling and hard-fought series so far, Warren Gatland’s men edged the first encounter in Brisbane but were edged out by Australia in the second contest in Melbourne, with Wallabies kicker Christian Lealiifano booting a late, match-winning conversion.

A win for Gatland’s side would ensure the Lions record a series victory for the first time sine their 1997 tour of South Africa – but the visitors know how impressive Australia can be in a pivotal Test.

The Antipodeans beat their Northern Hemisphere rivals 29-23 in an all-important third battle 12 years ago with two Daniel Herbert tries and the feet of Matt Burke doing the damage.

Gatland has rolled the dice and made six changes for the final Test decider against Australia on Saturday – with Alun-Wyn Jones named as captain.

Jones replaces the sidelined Sam Warburton as skipper and will now go head-to-head with Australian counterpart James Horwill, who had been twice cleared of deliberately stamping on the Lions lock.

With the three-Test series standing at 1-1, Gatland has named Jamie Roberts, Mike Phillips, Alex Corbisiero, Richard Hibbard, Sean O’Brien and Toby Faletau in a starting XV that contains 10 Welshmen.

However there is no place in the squad for Brian O’Driscoll, though, despite the legendary centre having been tipped for the captaincy in the build-up to the clash.

All that means the series hinges on the result of the third Test in Sydney on Saturday morning and you will be able to see every kick and try, and whether the Lions cry with joy or despair, so postpone the shopping, put down your gardening tools and tune into Sky Sports for the third, final and decisive Lions-Australia duel.

Alex Payne will present Sky Sports’ exclusive live coverage from Sydney with a full hour-long build-up starting at 10.00am, ahead of an 11.05am kick-off.

Expert analysis and comment will come from Sir Ian McGeechan, Paul Wallace, Scott Quinnell and Will Greenwood, while match commentary will be provided by Miles Harrison and Stuart Barnes.

Highlights will be shown across the Sky Sports channels at various times on Saturday evening (first showing: 6pm, SS1).

As well as the all action on the pitch, fans can also stay bang up to date with all the goings on in Australia by watching online via Sky Go or by logging onto Sky Sports’ dedicated Lions Tour website, which also includes the latest news, features, interviews and video from the Sky Sports team in Australia.

Live radio commentary of all three Lions Tests will be exclusively broadcast on talkSPORT.
