BBC Sport is to broadcast two documentaries on the eve of Wimbledon 2013 featuring three of the biggest stars in tennis.
British fans will get the chance to take a closer look of the life on and off the court of world number two and reigning US Open champion Andy Murray in a special BBC One documentary on Sunday evening at 10.25pm.
With contributions from family, friends, rivals and famous fans such as Sir Alex Ferguson and James Corden, the programme looks at how the last 12 months have catapulted him into a worldwide sporting superstar.
Also on Sunday at 7.00pm, BBC Two will screen a profile of the most famous sister act in tennis – multiple Grand Slam champions Venus and Serena Williams.
Reigning US Open and Olympic champion Andy Murray allows the BBC into his inner sanctum to witness what it takes on and off the court to compete as a global sports star.
‘Andy Murray: The Man Behind the Raquet’, a special one-hour profile, features contributions from girlfriend Kim Sears, mum Judy, brother Jamie, coach Ivan Lendl, as well as current top players and celebrity friends.
Presented by Sue Barker, the documentary also features anecdotes and opinions from his three biggest on-court rivals Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
Tennis greats Andre Agassi and John McEnroe and famous fans such as Kevin Spacey, Sir Alex Ferguson, Anna Wintour, Christopher Bailey and James Corden also offer their insights into Murray.
From an open-top bus in his hometown of Dunblane to pilates in Miami, from ice baths in Monte Carlo to injury rehabilitation in Surrey with Kim and his dogs, this documentary promises to present Andy in a way that the public have never seen him before.
With fashion shoots, charity and media work along the way, fans will get a glimpse into the life of a usually private and shy individual.
