Carl Froch makes the first defence of his IBF super-middleweight title against Yusaf Mack at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, exclusively live on Sky Sports and Sky 3D on November 17.
‘The Cobra’ defends his world title against the Philadelphianat in front of his home fans at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, a fight which the top of Betfair’s ‘True Brit’ bill, and the 35 year old has promised a powerful display in his ninth consecutive World title fight.
There will also be a host of preview programming building up to the big fight, including special editions of Ringside featuring Froch and former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
In his last fight in May, Froch scored his first knockout victory since 2009 when he sensationally upset Lucian Bute to claim a world title for the third time in his career, in a stunning fifth round stoppage in his hometown fortress back in May.
It was the perfect way to fight back from the loss to Andre Ward that cost him the WBC super-middleweight strap in December 2011.
Froch has told his fans to lift the roof off the Capital FM Arena as he aims to retain his title.
They have snapped up over 9,000 tickets for their hero’s ninth consecutive world title fight, and Nottingham-born fighter says his fans can once again make the difference against the American.
With a rematch against Bute still on the cards, and grudge rematches against Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler in his sights, Froch has admitted that this could the last chance for his hometown fans to see him box in Nottingham.
But the 35-year-old knows he must be wary of Mack, admitting he has everything to lose when he steps inside the ring in front of his home fans.
Mack is moving down from the light-heavyweight division for the first time since October 2006 and boasts 31 victories and two draws from his 37 professional bouts.
The four blemishes on his impressive record have come against big fighters including Glen Johnson, who Froch edged past in June 2011.
Froch’s world title defence tops a great night of action in Nottingham as Tony Bellew aims to move a step closer to a world title opportunity against Argentina’s Roberto Bolonti.
Bellew defeated Edison Miranda just two months ago and many have questioned whether it is wise to return to the ring so soon.
Bolonti, who has never fought outside of his homeland, has won 30 of his 31 professional bouts.
