A difficult few months for Amir Khan finally come to a head as he faces Danny Garcia at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Sky Sports will be the only place to see the Bolton fighter face Danny Garcia for the WBC and WBA light-welterweight championship.
Khan was scheduled to step back into the ring with Lamont Peterson following his controversial points loss to the American last year.
However, Peterson failed a drugs test during the build-up and the fight was called off.
The British fighter is not resting on laurels though, and this fight against the unbeaten Garcia is sure to test his skills to the limit.
At a recent pre-fight press conference, Khan was in buoyant mood. “We are going to see an explosive Amir Khan in there,” he said.
“We are going to see Danny Garcia, who is an unbeaten fighter with a WBC title. But I don’t think he has seen anyone like Amir Khan. Someone explosive, someone strong, someone powerful.
“And it is going to be a fight that is going to show all the critics and also it’s going to be a big win for me.”
Khan clearly believes his career has not yet reached its peak and sees Garcia as something of a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
There is talk that he could step up in weight and possibly challenge the likes of Victor Ortiz, Floyd Mayweather or stable mate Manny Pacquaio.
But in the past, Khan has lost when he has perhaps looked past an opponent. An unfancied Breidis Prescott knocked him out in spectacular style in 2008.
Danny Garcia is a far more dangerous prospect than Prescott and Khan will need to focus if he is to get his career back on track.
