Channel 4 will screen more than 20 hours of coverage from BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester on 22-26 May.
This will be the London 2012 Paralympics broadcaster’s second successive year covering the event, which will act as vital preparation ahead of the Paralympic foray in just over 100 days.
Channel 4 will also utilise the majority of their Paralympic Games on-screen team at the Manchester Regional Arena, including Clare Balding and Ade Adepitan, giving viewers a taste of what is to come from their presenting line-up later this summer.
The BT Paralympic World Cup is the largest annual international multi-sport competition in elite disability sport, with many of the world’s top Paralympic stars taking part.
Manchester has committed for the eighth consecutive year to hosting elite international athletes competing across Wheelchair Basketball, Athletics and Football 7-a-side.
In addition, Boccia will once again be represented, with an international match being staged during the competition.
Channel 4’s coverage starts on day two of competition on Wednesday 23rd May, which also includes highlights of Tuesday’s athletics competition.
Live coverage from Wednesday to Friday will be broadcast online via Channel 4’s official Paralympics site from 12.45pm to 5.15pm, with late–night highlights shows on Channel 4 each night, presented by That Paralympic Show host Rick Edwards and Daráine Mulvihill.
The final day of the BT Paralympic World Cup on Saturday 26th May will be broadcast live on Channel 4 from midday, with two hours of live coverage to be presented by Clare Balding and Ade Adepitan, who will both also present Friday’s live online screening.
Joining the pair in presenting Channel 4’s online coverage will be reining triple jump world record holder Jonathan Edwards and Kelly Cates, who will front the show on Wednesday, with Thursday’s online transmission being presented by Georgie Bingham and Arthur Williams.
