UEFA Champions League 2013/4: Quarter Finals on ITV & Sky

Europe’s greatest domestic football competition has reached its business end and you can see the best teams from the continent battle it out for a semi-final spot on ITV and Sky Sports in early April.

ITV will be screening live and exclusive free-to-air coverage of Manchester United’s home first leg tie against defending champions Bayern Munich, followed by Chelsea’s home second leg clash with Paris St Germain.

Sky Sports will bring you live coverage of six of the eight Champions League quarter-finals, including Chelsea and Manchester United’s away fixtures at PSG and Bayern Munich respectively.

In addition, there will also be both legs of the other two quarter-finals exclusively live on Sky Sports, including the mouth-watering all-La Liga clash between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, plus their rivals, Real Madrid’s meetings with last year’s finalists Borussia Dortmund.

With just four matches to go in the race for a spot in May’s final in the Portuguese city of Lisbon, two British sides remain in the hunt for European glory alongside three from Spain, one from France and both of last year’s two finalists from Germany.

After Arsenal and Manchester City fell at the round of 16 hurdle to Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively, English honours in the quarter-final stages lie with Manchester United and Chelsea this season.

Manchester United booked their place in the quarter-finals with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Olympiakos at Old Trafford, having turned their tie against the Turkish side around after losing 2-0 in the first leg.

Inconsistent league form has kept manager David Moyes under fire from certain quarters, but he will be hoping their progression will kick-start the flailing domestic engine in to action.

But two games against the holders and unbeaten Bundesliga champions elect, Bayern Munich, could prove a step too far for the Red Devils.

Chelsea eased in to the last eight with a home win over Galatasaray but face a whole new challenge against big-spending and high scoring Paris St Germain.

Laurent Blanc’s PSG are clear at the top of Ligue 1, but they have never progressed beyond the last eight in the Champions League and face a Chelsea side who are peaking at just the right time.

All eyes, as ever, will be on Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he comes up against his former boss Jose Mourinho, but Chelsea have their own match winner in Eden Hazard- who has emerged as a world class talent this season.

With the likes of Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi forming a tricky trio of forwards, the French side will be ready to test the Blues defence.

ITV’s coverage of both its live quarter-final ties will be presented by Adrian Chiles alongside studio pundits Roy Keane and Lee Dixon, with commentary from Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend.

Matt Smith will present Tuesday night highlights on both quarter-final matchdays on ITV, while live streaming and updates will be available via itv.com/football.

Jeff Stelling will introduce the pick of Sky Sports’ live ties each night during the quarter finals where he will be joined by a variety of stellar guests to analyse the action.

Watch all of Sky Sports’ live coverage on the move via Sky Go or follow online via skysports.com.

The European action continues on Thursday nights as the UEFA Europa League also reaches the quarter-final stages.

ITV4 will screen the pick of the live first and second leg ties, with its second pick broadcast online via itv.com/football, while the other two quarter finals will be shown live on BT Sport.
