Sky Sports and BBC Sport Scotland have confirmed the 2014/15 William Hill Scottish Cup 4th Round ties they will be broadcasting live over the weekend of November 29-30.
Three ties will be televised from the fourth stage of the competition with two being shown live by Sky Sports, whilst one will be screened on terrestrial television via BBC Scotland.
Kicking off the weekend’s live action will be one of five all-Scottish Premiership clashes with Dundee’s home tie against Aberdeen, which will be broadcast live from Dens Park on BBC One Scotland, kicking off at 12.15pm on Saturday, November 29.
Dundee were knocked out of last season’s competition in the fourth round by Raith Rovers, while Aberdeen were beaten in the semi-finals by eventual winners St Johnstone.
The Dens Park men and the Dons have met once this season in the Premiership, with Aberdeen running out 3-2 winners in Dundee.
Then on Sunday, November 30, two further ties will be shown exclusively live on Sky Sports, both featuring Scottish Championship teams at home to Premiership opposition.
Sky’s live Scottish Cup double header begins at Ibrox as Rangers, who are currently second in the Championship table, take on three-time cup winners Kilmarnock, kicking off at 12.45pm.
Then at 3.15pm, Sky Sports will screen live coverage of Championship leaders Hearts’ date against Premiership champions Celtic, in what looks to be the tie of the round.
Both sides met in the League Cup earlier this season, with Scottish champions Celtic running out 3-0 winners in Glasgow, and at the same stage of the Scottish Cup last term, Celtic hammered Hearts 7-0 in Edinburgh.
The fourth round stage marks the beginning of televised coverage of the Scottish Cup on Sky Sports and BBC Scotland, who will share live coverage of the pick of each round’s ties from now until the final next May.
Sky Sports will screen the first and third pick matches from round four in November to the quarter finals in April, with BBC Scotland having the second choice of live games.
Both semi-finals will broadcast live on Sky Sports next April, while BBC Scotland will simulcast the second-choice last-four encounter, then the two broadcasters will then share live coverage of the Scottish Cup final, which will return to Hampden Park next year, on Saturday, May 30.
All of BBC Scotland’s coverage will available to all UK viewers online via the BBC Sport Scotland website and on catch-up via BBC iPlayer, while BBC Scotland channels can also be viewed on Sky and Virgin Media platforms.
