Champions League Twenty20 2014 live on British Eurosport

The world’s top cricketers descend on India for the prestigious Champions League Twenty20 tournament and British Eurosport will broadcast all the key matches exclusively live.

A total of 29 games will be played across the three-week tournament, now in its sixth year, which features the best T20 teams from the major domestic leagues around the world.

Last year’s winners, the Mumbai Indians, will have to get through the qualifying stages before they can retain their title, as they and three other IPL sides go head-to-head with the finest T20 teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Pakistan for the multi-million dollar prize fund.

Mumbai Indians finished outside of the top three in the Indian Premier League earlier this year, behind the Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and the Kings XI Punjab, who will head straight into the tournament.

The Super Kings will be making their fifth appearance at the tournament having dominated Indian short-form cricket over recent years.

They will be captained by MS Dhoni, a cricket legend not just in India, but across the globe. Dhoni has been at the Super Kings since the induction of the IPL back in 2008, leading his team to two IPL titles.

Indian batsman Suresh Raina has scored the most runs over the previous editions of the tournament with 608, while West Indian bowler Dwayne Bravo has taken to most wickets in the tournament with 28.

As was the case 12 months ago, due to the clash with the end of the English cricket season, no county sides will be taking part in this season’s Champions League competition, but there will still be a wealth of big names on show in India, including MS Dhoni, Mitchell Johnson, Jacques Kallis and Lasith Malinga.

With the 50-over World Cup just a few months away, the Champions League T20 tournament will be the last global gathering of some of the sport’s biggest stars before cricket’s one-day showpiece begins in Australia and New Zealand in February.

British Eurosport will have exclusive coverage from the 2014 Champions League Twenty20 with coverage including live action from up to two games daily and regular highlights.

The pan-European channel’s coverage begins on Monday, September 16, with extended highlights from the first four qualifying matches, before live coverage commences the following day with the final day of pre-qualifying games, all on British Eurosport 2.

Then on Wednesday, September 17, the CLT20 group stages swing into action with Kolkata Knight Riders against Chennai Super Kings. All group matches will be broadcast on British Eurosport 2, with the semi-finals and final due to shown on the main British Eurosport channel in the tournament’s final week.

British Eurosport will take the coverage provided by host broadcaster STAR Sports, with its world feed commentary team including HD Ackerman, Ian Bishop, Kepler Wessels, Harsha Bhogle, Tom Moody, Ravi Shastri, Ian Chappell and Suni Gavaskar.

Fans can keep up-to-date with all the latest news, statistics and latest scores via the British Eurosport website, while in addition to TV coverage, viewers can watch every game on Eurosport Player via their computer or tablet (subscription required).

British Eurosport recently extended its deal to broadcast exclusively live coverage of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament for three more years, featuring live, delayed and replay rights.

Eurosport’s new deal with the tournament’s host broadcaster STAR Sports extends the association between the broadcaster and Champions League T20 cricket to seven years, having screened the competition since its inception in 2009.
