The second week of Tokyo 2020 gets underway and BBC Sport and Eurosport will have extensive round-the-clock coverage of day 10 from the Olympic Games across its platforms.
SOTB’s Olympics TV guides will take you through all the key action and list the must-see moments every day throughout the Games.
A total of 21 Olympic sporting disciplines are in action on Monday and 22 gold medals are set to be won. Here is a summary of the best action to look out for:
TRACK CYCLING: It’s the opening day of action inside the Izu Velodrome, featuring qualifying in the men’s and women’s team pursuits and team sprint competitions.
There’s no British representation in the latter, where Germany and Australia are among the favourites, but both GB pursuit teams will be in action.
ATHLETICS: The headline event of the day on the track is the women’s 5,000m. Sadly, it won’t feature Britain’s Eilish McColgan, who recently broke Paula Radcliffe’s British record, as she failed to progress through her semi-final. Kenya’s Hellen Obiri is one of the favourites, having won the past two world titles but she has never the Olympic title.
Other finals today include the men’s long jump, women’s 100m hurdles, women’s discus and men’s 3,000m steeplechase, while the heats of the women’s 1500m also take place, featuring GB’s Laura Muir.
EQUESTRIAN: The three-day eventing competition reaches its climax with the team and individual gold medals to be won today.
Britain are current holders of the team world title, although only Tom McEwen from that success is heading to Tokyo He will be joined in the team event by Oliver Townend and Laura Collett.
GYMNASTICS: Two showpiece apparatus finals take place today – the men’s rings is one of the defining images of Olympic strength as gymnasts perform manoeuvres while suspending themselves from a set of rings.
The women’s floor competition also takes place, featuring GB’s Jessica Gadirova, who enters Tokyo 2020 as the new European champion. The destination of the medals is likely to be wide open following the withdrawal of American superstar Simone Biles.
SAILING: Today’s medal races – the women’s 49er FX and men’s 49er – feature GB’s Saskia Tidey and Charlotte Dobson, and Stuart Bithell and Dylan Fletcher respectively. Bithell and Fletcher are world champions in this class from 2017.
HOCKEY: The women’s quarter-finals take place today at the Oi Hockey Stadium. Defending Olympic champions Great Britain face Spain as the vie for a spot in the last four.
WEIGHTLIFTING: In women’s +87kg category, Emily Campbell, who won the European title only four months ago, represents Great Britain.

Athletics dominates the early schedule on day 10, including the opening round of the women’s 200m alongside the finals of the women’s 100m hurdles and men’s long jump, while Great Britain’s Laura Muir and Jemma Reekie will be seeking safe passage as they begin their 1500m campaigns.
There could be British interest too in the women’s 100m hurdles final, with sisters Cindy Simber and Tiffany Porter fourth and seventh respectively at the previous Olympics and among the fastest in the world this year. But the athlete to catch is Puerto Rican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, who moved to equal seventh on the all-time list early this year.

LIVE TRACK CYCLING, SAILING Presenters: Dan Walker & Sam Quek |
British athletes seek to rule the waves in sailing and put the brakes on their rivals in the cycling velodrome, as the action continues on day 10 in Tokyo.
Sailing medal races are taking place in the men’s 49er and women’s 49erFX events, with both British crews coming into the Olympics with realistic prospects of a podium finish. Dylan Fletcher and Stuart Bithell are former world champions, although it will be a huge upset if anyone beats New Zealand’s reigning Olympic gold medallists Blair Tuke and Peter Burling. On the women’s side, Charlotte Dobson and Saskia Tidey have performed consistently in recent years, culminating in a world silver medal in 2020.
At the velodrome against a backdrop of Mount Fuji, Britain’s cyclists begin their defence of the men’s and women’s team pursuit titles. The women’s team sprint also takes place, with Australia the favourites and Great Britain unlikely to be in medal contention.
NOTE: Between 6am and 9am during Olympic Breakfast, there will be hourly BBC national news updates.

Laura Muir, Laura Weightman and Eilish McColgan have all registered global top 10 finishes since the previous Olympics, but the athlete to beat – if she opts to compete over the distance – may well be current world 1,500m and 10,000m champion Sifan Hassan.
Elsewhere, the finale of the team and individual eventing competitions – the showjumping – takes place, while in women’s hockey quarter-finals, Great Britain face Spain.
