Aviva Premiership 2017/18: BT Sport reveals opening live games

The 2017-18 Aviva Premiership Rugby season on BT Sport kicks off in September and it promises to be another enthralling campaign as the 12 teams plot their journey that they hope will end at Twickenham.
Defending champions Exeter Chiefs will start the 2017/18 campaign in front of the BT Sport cameras as they play Gloucester on the opening weekend.
The holders’ travel to Kingsholm on Friday, 1 September for a 7.45pm kick off, in one of four televised games from the opening round of fixtures.
Saracens and Northampton Saints are part of the traditional Twickenham double header the following day, with London Irish taking on Harlequins on their top flight return.
Then on Sunday, 3 September, England fly-half George Ford will take on former side Bath on his second debut for the Leicester Tigers for a 3pm kick off.
In total, BT Sport will show 32 live matches during the first 10 rounds of the season with live fixtures confirmed through to the beginning of December.
The fixtures for Rounds 11-13, covering the Christmas period, will be confirmed in the first week of October, with TV selections expected shortly after.
BT Sport will broadcast 69 Aviva Premiership Rugby live throughout the season, while five matches will be simulcast free-to-air on Channel 5, which takes over from ITV as the competition’s terrestrial home for the next four years. A further announcement on Channel 5’s coverage plans is expected in due course.
In addition to Premiership Rugby, BT Sport will also screen the Anglo Welsh Cup and Premiership 7s action, as well as live European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup fixtures, for which it recently secured exclusive live rights from the 2018/19 season.
