BT Sport have announced the two live Second Round replays it will be televising as part of the channel’s continuing coverage of the 2014/15 FA Cup.
A dramatic weekend of second round action will run firmly into December after two replays were selected for live coverage by BT Sport, starting with Chester’s home clash against League One side Barnsley on December 16.
The Conference Premier side came close to shocking Barnsley at Oakwell after holding the third-tier outfit to a goalless draw, and the two sides will meet again in the first of BT Sport’s televised replays on Tuesday night, kicking off at 7.45pm.
Chester will now be eyeing an FA Cup giant killing with a home tie against Championship club Middlesbrough awaiting the winners in the third round.
Then on Wednesday, December 17, also at 7.45pm, Conference North side Worcester City host third-tier Scunthorpe United at their Aggborough home after holding The Iron to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, thanks to Daniel Nti’s second-half equaliser.
With Scunthorpe struggling in the relegation zone of League 1, the lower league side will fancy their chances of causing an upset at home in the replay.
The prize for a victory in the replay is a home tie against Chesterfield in the third round, however this is subject to change as the Spireites are under investigation for fielding an ineligible player against MK Dons in the second round. If Chesterfield are expelled from the competition, the Dons will take their place in the third round.
BT Sport’s live FA Cup coverage this season will be presented by Jake Humphrey from pitchside alongside regular pundits including Michael Owen, Robbie Savage, Owen Hargreaves and Steve McManaman, as well as a number of special guests.
Ian Darke, Darren Fletcher and Derek Rae lead commentary duties on all of BT Sport’s FA Cup ties, while Ray Stubbs and Darryl Currie provide reports and interviews from pitchside.
As well as the live games, BT Sport will broadcast highlights and goal clips from each round of the competition in programmes throughout each FA Cup weekend.
Alongside comprehensive TV coverage, fans can enjoy all the action on the go from each live FA Cup tie via the BT Sport app, while match highlights, goal clips, interviews and special features will also be available to watch on the app and on btsport.com.
In addition, all the goals from the FA Cup Second Round replays will be available to watch online shortly after the conclusion of each match via the BBC Sport website.
