Some of the world’s elite golfers make their final preparations ahead of the Open Championship at the 2014 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open this week and Sky Sports will show all four days live.
A stellar line-up of golf stars young and old take to the fairway at Royal Aberdeen, headlined by five-time major champion Phil Mickelson who returns to Scotland to defend the title he won in 2013 after defeating Branden Grace in a thrilling sudden-death play-off at Castle Stuart.
He will be putting the trophy on the line against a field that includes the experience hand of Sir Nick Faldo, who is making a rare appearance on the European Tour.
Britain’s most decorated golfer has fond memories playing on Scottish soil, with three of his six Major triumphs coming at Open Championships in Muirfield and St Andrews.
Justin Rose, winner of the 2013 US Open, is among the British contenders and he will be up against compatriots Luke Donald, a former world number one, and Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Rory McIlroy, all of whom played instrumental roles in Team Europe’s Ryder Cup triumphs of 2010 and 2012.
Other names to look out for include Jimmy Walker, who already has three tour titles to his name this season and Henrik Stenson, the first man to win both the Race to Dubai and FedEx Cup series in the same campaign.
Another exciting Scottish Open is expected to play out as Britain’s most picturesque links golf courses as the build up to Open continues and you can follow the key moments by watching Sky Sports’ live coverage or free-to-air highlights on BBC Two.
Sky Sports will screen the 2014 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open exclusively live with over 25 hours of coverage from the beautiful Royal Aberdeen course.
David Livingstone will present Sky’s live output throughout all four days from a studio overlooking the main clubhouse, with Ewen Murray and Bruce Critchley leading the commentary team alongside Mark Roe, Steve Beddow and Richard Boxall.
Regular Sky Sports analyst Paul McGinley will be playing at Royal Aberdeen during the week and he will also pop into the commentary at various times during the tournament.
Howard Clark and Wayne Riley will provide on-course updates, while further reports and interviews with the key players will come from Tim Barter.
All of Sky Sports’ extensive coverage will be available to watch online via Sky Go, plus there will be live text commentaries and leaderboards via skysports.com/golf.

In addition to the Scottish Open, Sky Sports will also be screening live coverage over the weekend of the John Deere Classic from the PGA Tour, as well as the US Senior Open in Oklahoma, featuring Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie and defending champion Kenny Perry.
BBC Sport will screen free-to-air highlights of the final two rounds of the 2014 Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen.
Hazel Irvine introduces all the best moments from the European Tour’s third UK-based event over of the year in two late-night one-hour programmes on BBC Two and BBC Two HD, with both being broadcast at 11.45pm on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Commentary comes from the European Tour international feed which includes former BBC broadcasters Dougie Donnelly and Sam Torrence.
Both of BBC Two’s highlights shows will be available to watch on-demand via the BBC iPlayer for up to seven days after transmission.
Live leaderboard updates, news, video highlights and interviews will be made available via the BBC Sport website.
In addition to Scottish Open highlights, BBC Sport will also be screening all four days of the 2014 Women’s British Open live from July 10-13, which comes a week ahead of its exclusive live coverage of the Open Championship at Hoylake.
