BBC Scotland has extended its exclusive broadcasting deal for live Scottish League Cup matches until 2016.
At least four games from the latter stages of the competition, including the final at Hampden Park, will be televised live on BBC Scotland each season from 2013-14 to 2015-16.
The rights agreement also covers live radio commentary on BBC Radio Scotland, TV highlights packages, online clips and streaming of selected live matches via the BBC Sport website as well as catch-up via BBC iPlayer.
The League Cup has been broadcast exclusively on the BBC since 2004.
The newly formed Scottish Professional Football League have taken over the running of the tournament, which was previously under the auspices of the Scottish Football League. The SFL and Scottish Premier League merged to form the SPFL.
SPFL Chief Executive Neil Doncaster commented: “We are delighted to announce that BBC Scotland will again be screening live free-to-air coverage of Scottish League Cup matches.
“This will ensure that as many viewers as possible are able to enjoy the drama of this season’s Scottish League Cup and should help attract a sponsor for this prestigious competition.”

The first round of the this season’s Scottish League Cup takes place on Saturday, August 3.
In addition to the Scottish League Cup, BBC Scotland is the home of live free-to-air Scottish Cup matches as well as weekly highlights from the Scottish Premiership in ‘Sportscene’.
The BBC’s Gaelic language channel – BBC Alba – also shows selected live Scottish Premiership and Scottish Challenge Cup games during the season.
