Carabao Cup 2nd Round: Sky Sports confirms live TV ties

Two intriguing ties from the second round of the Carabao Cup have been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports at the end of August.

An all-London affair headlines the selections with Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United making the trip to Kingsmeadow for a fascinating fixture against League One outfit AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday, 28 August, kicking off at 7.45pm.

The live action continues the following evening on Sky Sports, this time from the City Ground in a clash between Championship side Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, led by Rafael Benitez, which will also kick off at 7.45pm.

The draw for the second round was confirmed at the Stadium of Light, where Sheffield Wednesday booked their place in the draw after victory against Sunderland in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

All second round ties will be played week commencing 27 August, which also includes Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, and an-all Premier League fixture between Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton in what is set to be a blockbuster round of fixtures.

Sky Sports will cover live matches from every round of this season’s Carabao Cup, presented by Scott Minto, with expert analysis from pundits including Jamie Carragher, Jamie Redknapp, Peter Beagrie and Don Goodman.

Alongside Sky’s exclusively live games from the first round to the final, new EFL terrestrial partner Quest will screen free-to-air highlights from each round during the competition, presented by Colin Murray.
