Steven Gerrard’s first competitive game as a top-level manager will be shown exclusively live on BT Sport.
The former England star is hoping to steer Rangers through the awkward UEFA Europa League qualifying stages and Macedonian side FK Shkupi are their opening opponents.
BT Sport will air the first leg from Ibrox, with live coverage beginning at 7pm ahead of a 7.45pm kick-off, on BT Sport 1 HD and in ultra HD via the BT Sport 4K UHD channel on Thursday, July 12th.
The game will also be available for live streaming via BTSport.com and on mobile and tablet devices via the BT Sport app.
Darrell Currie will present BT Sport’s coverage live from Ibrox alongside former Rangers players Charlie Adam and Kenny Miller. Match commentary comes from Rory Hamilton and Kevin Thomson, while Eilidh Barbour will be pitchside reporter.
Rangers will need to negotiate four two-legged ties in all if they are to take their place in the UEFA Europa League group stages, which begin on 20 September.
The announcement follows the news earlier this week that BT Sport’s first exclusively live Ladbrokes Premiership game of the new season will be Rangers’ trip to Motherwell on Sunday, 26 August.
BT Sport will be the only place to watch live coverage and highlights of every match from the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League for at least the next three seasons.
