BT Sport will launch its coverage of the 2017/18 Vanarama National League by screening the opening day fixture between Sutton United and Leyton Orient.

TV cameras will be in place at the Gander Green Lane on Saturday, 5 August, for the 12.30pm kick-off, which will be shown exclusively live on BT Sport 1.

Sutton United enjoyed a fabulous season last term, combining a 12th place league finish with a stunning FA Cup run that saw them beat AFC Wimbledon and Leeds United before eventually going out to Arsenal.

For their part, Orient will be hoping for a much better season having been relegated from League Two and dropping out of the Football League for the first time since 1905.

The opening day live TV fixture will be followed by four more televised matches in August and early September, with two newcomers to the league going head-to-head on 12 August, with Maidenhead United hosting Hartlepool United at York Road in a 12.30pm kick off.

Another promoted club, FC Halifax Town, will host neighbours Guiseley in a West Yorkshire derby at The Shay in the Saturday, 26 August lunchtime kick off.

Rounding off the Bank Holiday weekend on the Monday, 28 August, will be AFC Fylde as they show off their Mill Farm complex by entertaining the Bluebirds of Barrow in a 7.45pm kick-off, while the opening September TV fixture will be at Prenton Park as Tranmere Rovers host Dover Athletic.

BT Sport is the home of the Vanarama National League throughout the season and will broadcast 30 live matches this season, including the play-offs, in addition to weekly highlights.
