Players Championship 2017 live on ITV4


Llandudno plays host to the best snooker players in the world from March 6-12 in the 2017 edition of the Players Championship, live and free-to-air on ITV4.

A top prize of £125,000 up for grabs is north Wales as players look to boost their ranking points, as well as stake a claim ahead of the climax to the season at The Crucible, the World Championship, in April and May.

First held in Dublin back in 2011, the tournament was originally known as the Players Tour Championship Grand Finals and featured the top players in ranking list of from the PTC events on the calendar.

Shaun Murphy won the inaugural staging, while other winners since then include Ding Junhui, Barry Hawkins, Joe Perry and Mark Allen.

The event was rebranded as the Players Championship Finals last year and now the tournament heads to Venue Cymru in Llandudno, which hosted the ITV4-televised World Grand Prix in 2015 and 2016.

This world-ranking tournament now features the 16 of the best players on the planet, from a unique ranking list which runs from the start of the current season until the Gibraltar Open.

It promises to be a title keenly contested by the sport’s top players and ITV4 will broadcast all the action throughout the week from Venue Cymru in Llandudno.

Jill Douglas will present ITV4’s coverage from Monday to Thursday, with Rishi Persad taking over presenting duties for the conclusion of the tournament.

Joining them throughout the weekend for expert analysis and will be 7-time world champion Stephen Hendry, former Masters champion Alan McManus and Neal Foulds, while Clive Everton and Phil Yates will be in the commentary box.

All of the action will also be available to watch live online via the ITV Hub.
