EFL Cup Final 2017 live on Sky Sports

Manchester United and Southampton meet at Wembley Stadium to fight it out for the first major silverware of the season in the 2017 EFL Cup final, live on Sky Sports.

Neither club in the EFL’s showpiece final on Sunday, February 26, has had a straightforward path to book their Wembley berth.

Claude Puel’s Saints in particular have had a tough run that has forced them to produce some fine results, including a 2-0 win at Arsenal in the quarter-finals, and a memorable two-legged semi-final victory over Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Manchester United had to defeat city rivals and cup holders Manchester City in round four, while they overcame a spirited fightback from Hull City in the semi-finals.

The Saints have never won a League Cup crown, making one appearance in the final back in 1979, losing 3-2 to Nottingham Forest, so they will be eager to capitalise on a rare chance of securing some silverware.

Jose Mourinho, however, will be determined to deny them, and grab a trophy at the first time of asking as Manchester United boss. His side are resurgent and will fancy their chances here against a team that has leaked goals heavily on occasion this season.

With the firepower of Zlatan, the skill of Pogba, and the big stage nous of Wayne Rooney, United should be the more confident side.

But under the bright lights of Wembley, expectations are often confounded – some are daunted, some find an extra gear. It is the perfect stage for the occasion, as the first silverware of the season is set to be claimed.

Sky Sports will be the only place to see all the action live from Wembley Stadium.

Kick-off is at 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon, but Sky Sports’ coverage gets rolling at 10am, when Neil Ashton presents a special edition of Sunday Supplement live from Wembley on Sky Sports 1, as he and an astute panel of journalists review the weekend’s action and preview the final.

Chris Kamara and Ben Shephard will then take the reins on Goals on Sunday on Sky Sports 1 at 11am, then following the Super Sunday clash between Tottenham and Stoke City at 1pm, Simon Thomas will begin the final build-up to the EFL Cup final at 3.45pm on Sky Sports 1.

Phil Neville, Matt Le Tissier and Jamie Redknapp will be in the studio for expert analysis, while Gary Neville is on co-commentary duty alongside Martin Tyler.

In addition to live TV coverage, Sky Sports subscribers can watch the game on the move with Sky Go or follow a live match blog on skysports.com, where Sky Sports customers will be able to watch all the major incidents via our expanded mobile clips service.
