Sky Sports have announced the two live games they will cover as part of its coverage of the final day of this season’s Sky Bet Championship campaign.
Middlesbrough and Brighton will go head-to-head for the final automatic promotion place to the Premier League at lunchtime on Saturday, May 7, live on Sky Sports 1.
At the same time over on Sky Sports 2, Charlton Athletic host Burnley at Valley Parade. Both channels will begin building up to their respective games from 12.00pm.
All eleven games on the final day of the Championship season will kick-off at 12.30pm.
Burnley’s 1-0 victory over QPR on Monday (May 2) sealed an immediate return to the Premier League for the Clarets.
As a result, the game at Turf Moor also confirmed a blockbuster final day shoot-out on Teesside as Boro and Brighton battle it out for the right to join Sean Dyche’s men in the top flight.
Aitor Karanka’s men can end a seven-year absence from the Premier League if they avoid defeat to Chris Hughton’s side.
They know anything other than victory at the Riverside Stadium will see them drop into the play-offs.
Sky Sports is the place to see this dramatic Championship season draw to the close, with coverage from the Riverside running alongside Burnley’s final-day fixture away to relegated Charlton, where the Clarets can wrap up the title.
Free-to-air highlights of both games, as well as the rest of the final day action, will be shown on Saturday night in The Championship: Football League Tonight from 9.00pm on Channel 5.
In addition to the Championship season finale, Sky Sports will screen one match from the final day of League 1 – Doncaster Rovers against Burton Albion – on Sunday, May 9.
All games from the end-of-season Play-offs across all three divisions will also be broadcast exclusively live on Sky Sports, with free-to-air highlights on Channel 5.
