ITV Sport has confirmed that its coverage of the 2016 RBS 6 Nations will be led by Mark Pougatch.
Pougatch’s appointment to the role follows the announcement earlier this year that ITV had won the rights to show live RBS 6 Nations matches for the first time in its history, in a new shared deal with the BBC.
The deal with corporation secured free to air coverage for the tournament from 2016 to 2021, fending off strong competition from pay-TV rivals Sky Sports and BT Sport.
Under the terms of the deal, each year ITV will show live coverage of England, Ireland and Italy home matches.
Mark said: “I am delighted to be presenting ITV’s coverage of the 6 Nations which is always a highlight of the sporting calendar.
“I am looking forward to working with the hugely talented pundits and continuing my enjoyable association with ITV Sport.”
Niall Sloane, ITV Director of Sport, said: “Mark is a sports broadcaster of the highest calibre.
“He will bring to our 6 Nations coverage the knowledge and expertise required to complement the first class live action we’re all anticipating.”
Full details of ITV’s coverage line-up will be revealed in the lead up to the tournament kick-off next year.
