Sky Sports confirms live Championship final day games

Sky Sports will feature vital matches for Ipswich and Derby on the final day of the Sky Bet Championship season on Saturday, May 2.

With automatic promotion and relegation already decided, the fixtures will see the last two places in the play-offs come under the spotlight.

Fifth-placed Ipswich take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park knowing a point will be enough to see them secure a place in the top six. That game will be shown on Sky Sports 2 from midday.

Derby, a point adrift of Mick McCarthy’s side in sixth, are at home to Reading and a win will see them extend their season further into May and their clash will be broadcast on Sky Sports 1, the programme starting at the same time.

The other two contenders for a play-off place do not have destiny in their own hands but could move into the top six if one or both of their rivals slip up.

Brentford and Wolves sit on 75 points, two behind Derby and three behind Ipswich, with both sides having an inferior goal difference.

The Bees are at home to relegated Wigan while Wolves host Millwall, who were also consigned to League One when Rotherham beat Reading 2-1 on Tuesday.

The Championship title is also yet to be decided, with Watford going into the final day a point ahead of Bournemouth.

Watford host Sheffield Wednesday while Bournemouth travel to Charlton hoping to avoid the unlikely 20-goal turnaround that would see Middlesbrough miraculously overtake them.

All of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship games kick off at 12.15pm – and fans can follow all the final-day action with Sky Sports.

Sky viewers be able to see the goals from every match as they go in on Soccer Saturday with Jeff Stelling and the team from 11am on Sky Sports News HQ – or follow a live blog on the Sky Sports website.
