BT Sport has announced which Aviva Premiership Rugby matches it will be televising in late March and early April as the 2014/15 season reaches a critical phase.

Saracens’ annual trip to Wembley Stadium at the end of March is the highlight among the six live matches chosen by the broadcaster covering rounds 18 and 19 of the campaign.

Last season their high-profile Aviva Premiership clash with Harlequins was watched by a world record crowd for a club match with 83,889 fans flocking to the national stadium and Saracens are expecting another bumper attendance this time around when Quins will once again provide the opposition.

This year the match comes in round 18 and is one of three games selected for live TV coverage on BT Sport that weekend, which kicks off on Friday, March 27 with the Premiership champions Northampton Saints entertaining Wasps with a 7.45pm kick-off.

The round 18 live TV action ends at the AJ Bell Stadium with Sale Sharks hosting Gloucester Rugby, while two weeks later when the Aviva Premiership returns, the first live match of the weekend sees Bath Rugby travel to Newcastle Falcons for a 7.45pm kick-off on Friday, April 10.

Saracens are again hosting the BT Sport live TV match on Saturday, April 11, as Leicester Tigers make the trip to Allianz Park. The live action for that weekend concludes on Sunday when Northampton Saints travel to Exeter Chiefs for a 2.00pm kick-off.

BT Sport will once again screen 69 exclusively live Aviva Premiership matches throughout the season, featuring all 12 sides in English club rugby’s top flight from the opening round in September through to the play-offs in May, with ITV and ITV4 again screening regular free-to-air highlights on Sunday evenings.

The channel is in the second of a four-year deal with Premiership Rugby – which expires in 2017 – and will share live coverage of European club rugby for the first time with Sky Sports this season with both networks carrying live games from the new European Champions Cup and European Challenge Cup.

Craig Doyle presents BT Sport’s rugby coverage alongside analysts Lawrence Dallaglio, Ben Kay, Matt Dawson and Austin Healey, with match commentary provided by Nick Mullins and Alastair Eykyn, while Sarra Elgan and Martin Bayfield lead the pitchside reporting team.
