The showpiece fixture in the women’s football calendar will be staged at MK Don’s Stadium MK as perennial winners Arsenal Ladies take on Everton Ladies in the 2014 FA Women’s Cup Final, live on BBC Two.
Arsenal will be attempting to retain the trophy they lifted for a record 12th time with a 3-0 victory over Bristol Academy last year at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium.
Steph Houghton nodded home a fine opener in just the second minute of play, Jordan Nobbs doubled the lead on 72 with a header of her own and Ellen White sealed the win deep into added time.
These three goals extended the Gunners’ record to 12 Cup triumphs and their first since 2011 when they proved too strong for the same opponents who were then appearing in their first final.
The perennial Cup winners made it to another final courtesy of Gunners and England legend Kelly Smith scoring twice in their thrilling 5-3 victory over Chelsea in the semi-finals last month.
Despite another strong cup run, this year’s final will be the last match for Arsenal manager Shelley Kerr, who has quit with the club bottom of the WSL having failed to secure a single victory so far this campaign.
Meanwhile, their opponents Everton will take inspiration from their 3-2 victory over Arsenal in the 2010 final, which went all the way to extra-time.
The Toffees claimed the trophy on that occasion thanks to last-minute winner from Natasha Dowie, wrestling the cup away from the favourites.
In this season’s competition, Everton secured their place in the final after overcoming Notts County in their semi-final and they will be hoping that history repeats itself from their last cup final appearance in 2010.
Like their cup final opponents, the Toffees have also failed to secure a victory in the league so far this season after four games with Everton just one place above the Gunners in the table.
Arsenal will be hoping to claim a unique cup double after the men’s team won their first major silverware in nine years when they beat Hull City to win the FA Cup fina at Wembley in May.
BBC Sport will be screening the 2014 FA Women’s Cup Final between Arsenal Ladies and Everton Ladies exclusively live from Stadium MK in Milton Keynes.
Jacqui Oatley will present BBC Two’s live coverage from pitchside with the programme starting at 4.15pm ahead of a 4.30pm kick-off time.
Match commentary comes from Steve Bower and Lucy Ward, while Tina Daheley conducts pre and post-match interviews with the players and managers.
Analysis comes from a panel of experts from the women’s game, including former England internationals Sue Smith and Faye White, herself a multiple cup winner with Arsenal, plus there will be all the reaction after the showpiece event of the English women’s domestic season.
Coverage will be available to watch in high-definition on BBC Two HD, as well as online via the BBC Sport website and app, plus the whole programme can viewed anytime for up to seven days after transmission on BBC iPlayer.
The Women’s FA Cup Final returned to terrestrial television last year after the BBC regained the rights to broadcast English women’s football’s showpiece match.
It forms part of BBC Sport’s comprehensive coverage of women’s football throughout the 2014-15 season across TV, radio and online, which includes monthly editions of ‘The Women’s Football Show’ on BBC Three.
