Eight sides remain in this season’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup and rugby league fans will be able to watch all four quarter-finals live on BBC Sport and Sky Sports in early June.
Both broadcasters will share coverage of the four ties from the quarter-final stages of the sport’s oldest and most prestigious competition over four consecutive days from June 5-8, with the BBC screening its first and third pick ties and Sky showing the second and fourth picks.
The 2014 competition’s eight remaining clubs will all be battling it out to take another step nearer to the showpiece final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, August 23.
Quarter-final action kicks off on Thursday, June 5, at the Select Security Stadium where the Sky Sports cameras will be on hand to capture a repeat of the 1937 Challenge Cup final between Widnes Vikings v Keighley Cougars, starting at 8.00pm.
Twenty four hours later, Sky Sports will also screen the tie that pits Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Centurions, the respective leaders of the Super League and Championship, together at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, also kicking off at 8.00pm.
Then over the weekend, both the remaining quarter-final ties will be broadcast live and free-to-air on the BBC.
On Saturday, June 7, BBC One will screen live coverage of its first pick tie, the mouth-watering all-Super League showdown between holders Wigan Warriors and in-form Castleford Tigers at DW Stadium, kicking off at 2.30pm.
Then on Sunday afternoon, Bradford Bulls and Warrington Wolves go head-to-head live over on BBC Two in the last tie of the round at Provident Stadium, kicking off at 3.30pm.
Following four tense and exciting quarter-finals, attention will switch to the semi-finals of the 2014 Tetley’s Challenge Cup, which will be played over the weekend of August 9-10 and both will be broadcast live by BBC Sport, with the corporation also screening exclusively live coverage of the final.
