Sky Sports brings together some of the biggest names in British boxing as they reveal what life is like outside the ring in a special one-off programme.
David Haye, Amir Khan, Carl Froch, Anthony Ogogo and host Johnny Nelson are the five fighters who will open up their hearts in Britain’s Best: The Gloves Are Off on Tuesday, January 22.
The hour-long show will give boxing aficionados and sports fans a fascinating insight into the lives of world champions, past, present and hopefully the future.
They won’t be discussing their latest performance or promoting their next big fight.
Instead, all four fighters will discuss their early years, their families, the fame that comes with success in the sport, their lives away from boxing and the issues they have had to take on.
They will talk about their careers, ambitions and personal lives, reveal what drives them and what the future holds beyond the boxing ring.
Former world heavyweight champion David Haye will open up about the difficulties in keeping his professional and private life separate.
Carl Froch reveals he finds his celebrity status even makes it difficult to do some DIY, while Amir Khan talks about the influence of his mother on his career.
Ogogo is the youngest of the five participants in show and he opens up about how his seriously ill mother inspired him to win a bronze medal at last summer’s Olympics in London.
All four fighters drop their defence and open up to Sky Sports commentator and former British champion Johnny Nelson, who also shares his insights in this unique round-table discussion.
Britain’s Best: The Gloves Are Off promises to be personal, powerful and amusing but above all a fascinating insight into the men we usually see inside the ring.
